8 Days Exploration of Natural Villages in Guizhou
Day 1 : Pickup to Guiyang
| Today’s Activities | As planned, meet your local guide at Guiyang Longdongbao Airport and transferred to your hotel. Free at leisure for the rest of the day. You may stroll around Jiaxiu Pavilion, which is the landmark building of Guiyang with a history of more than 400 years. The dinner choice is open to you that you can visit Hequn night market to try delicious street food or some small restaurant. Famous for spicy food, Guizhou definitely offer something satisfying your tongue. You will spend the night at your selected Guiyang hotel. |
Day 2 : Guiyang – Anshun – Guiyang ( Breakfast, Lunch )
| Today’s Activities | After breakfast in the hotel, we will drive about 2 hours to reach Anshun city, during this journey, you can stop by Yunfeng Tunpu Scenic Area to visit the local Old Han (Laohan) Minority. The ancestors of these villagers migrated from Jiangxi Province to Guizhou Province in the Ming Dynasty. Yunfeng Tunpu is also known as Yunfeng Bazhai Scenic Area, including eight tunpu villages. With a visit to Tunpu Cultural Museum and Di Opera Performance, you will get close to know Tunpu culture. In the afternoon, we will visit world-famous Huangguoshu waterfalls. Like a milky way in miniature, it is the largest waterfall in Asia. So impressive it is that makes you worthy of visiting more than 2 hours. Still we will drive back to Guiyang hotel to close this day. |
Day 3 : Guiyang — Kaili ( Breakfast, Lunch )
| Today’s Activities | After breakfast, the tourist guide will take you to the capital city of Southeast Guizhou – Kaili by car, it costs about 2.5 hours. After you have settled all your luggages in your selected hotel. Your village tour of Miao ethnic minority starts. we will drive to visit Qingman Miao Village. Different from others, all women here are wearing unique short skirts. Then, we will take a side-trip to Shiqiao Miao Village to see China mysterious Traditional Paper-making process, which is a big attraction nowadays to travelers. At last we will drive back to hotel. |
Day 4 : Kaili ( Breakfast, Lunch )
| Today’s Activities | We will drive to Chong’anjiang firstly to visit Wanba Gejia Village. As a branch of Miao minority, Gejia people have distinctive costumes and dress-up. Chatting with innocent villagers and seeing beautiful natural sceneries, you indeed have a good time here. In the afternoon, we will drive to another way to explore about 2-hour far Shidong Piantou Miao Village, the village accepts hundreds of visitors to join in famous Sisters’ Meal Festival (always on April) every year. In the normal period, the village seems quiet but still remains lots of cultural things to discover. Back to the Kaili hotel at last. |
Day 5 : Kaili – Rongjiang ( Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner )
| Today’s Activities | Our next destination is Rongjiang, and on the way east we encounter two Miao villages. The first one is Langde Upper Village, famed for its unique long-shirt Miao villagers. As a very popular minority attraction, Langde Upper Village is both mysterious and exciting, featuring Miao style houses “Diaojiaolou”. The next we will visit is Xinqiao Miao Village in Datang town, by fortune, we can see a row of girls dressed in mini-shirts dancing together to welcome outsiders. Also we could learn different Miao customs in this village, and receive warm treatment from the hospitable Miao hosts. Finally, we arrive at Rongjiang to check in. |
Day 6 : Rongjiang – Zhaoxing ( Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner )
| Today’s Activities | We continue to see another minority culture and customs – Dong Minority. Drive about 2 hours to do check-in at Zhaoxing Dong Village of Liping county. Then having a good lunch in local restaurant to regain energy to enjoy another half day. The driver will take us to see Tang’an Dong Village. The village owns a well-known minority ecological Museum, requiring us more than 30 minites to understand simple and green life of Dong villagers. Afterwards, you will challenge yourself to hike about 3 hours from Tang’an to see Shage Dong Village and then back to Zhaoxing Dong Village. Ok, just have a good dinner nearby and good night in Zhaoxing Dong Village. |
Day 7 : Zhaoxing – Guiyang ( Breakfast, Lunch )
| Today’s Activities | Hope you have a sound sleep last night, we will go to see local bazaar. Different from Miao market, it offers lots of interesting things to see and buy. Then we will head for famous Biasha Miao Village to visit so-called the Last Gunman Tribe. With a total population of 2244 people, the villages completely retain a primitive and mysterious Miao culture that lasts about two thousand years. Combined with mysteries and sacred customs, the village is an amazing place to travel. At the end of tour, we will drive back to Guiyang, and stay there for night. |
Day 8 : See-off in Guiyang ( Breakfast )
